A super calm spot with very warm reception, a very pretty and comfortable room… the restaurant by the little pool is very pleasant. The streets are very narrow to get there!

La Serena Boutique Hotel & Wellness is a 11-room boutique hotel in Altea's historic centre, 5 minutes from the sea and shopping area. A south-facing terrace with swimming pool and stylish lounge bar overlook the surroundings. The hotel features a restaurant, private spa with sauna and hammam, and rooms with king-size beds, flat-screen TVs, and private bathrooms, ideal for hiking, cycling, and water sports.

The room was fine, but the staff only spoke Spanish, every spa service and other amenities cost extra, the breakfast was really dull, there was no light on the shared terrace, and you couldn’t borrow lamps.

The location was perfect for the old town and tram station, the bed was comfy, the design was stylish, the staff were friendly and clearly multitaskers, and the place felt cosy. The Wi‑Fi was awful – we couldn’t connect in our room, only sporadically in the bar, probably because the building is old and Altea generally has poor reception; the pool could have been cleaner, and the BBC reception was patchy.

Everything was great! The hotel feels like a charming boutique, and staying there is like being at home. The only downside is that getting there by car is a bit tricky because the streets are narrow.
