“Piacevole a metà”

The place is close to the sea and all services, restaurants, bars, beach, shops. The owner is always available for information and suggestions. Taormina is only a 20‑minute car ride, a beautiful and well‑kept place. Etna is clearly visible in its full majesty. The building is on the second floor of a block on a side street, and the staircase to the apartment was never cleaned, which was very unpleasant to see. We had a triple with two sofa beds; it was impossible to sleep well for a week because of the constant noise from the beds and their layout. A regular double bed and a single bed would be better. The room was cleaned only every other day, and the sea view is not great. Small details, but they make a difference in a weekly stay.

The location is good. The apartment is on the second floor, no elevator, with steep stairs. The cleaning leaves much to be desired.

Excellent location in the center, a few steps from the beach, great, fast and friendly communication with the owner. It’s really a “room for a night”, and because it faces the beach it’s quite noisy.

“An Experience - not necessarily the one you expected”

The cleaning lady, who spoke no English but seemed lovely, was extremely nice and helpful (we thought we’d arrive around 5 pm but actually got there at 2:30 pm, much earlier than announced) and the owner was very responsive via chat and WhatsApp. The room itself was… interesting. We had a tiny window that made the space feel like a den or cave. The door that separates your private space from the other three rooms had a 1.5–2 cm gap—keep that in mind if you’re thinking about intimacy. It’s advertised, but for the price I’d rather stay in an old flatshare (at least my roommates only smoked in their rooms when they got home blitzed at 3 am). The AC, while working, sounded like a jet engine seconds before a commercial airliner takes off. We were asked to send photos of our IDs via WhatsApp and leave the tourist tax in cash on the nightstand—mildly sketchy, but that’s typical; we had big bills, so we were promptly given a bank account to wire it to. Showers were technically possible, but I’ll let anyone reading the attached image decide if the water temperature is adequately tempered. Our absolute highlight was the 5 cm cockroach waiting on our bed after we returned from a very romantic dinner in beautiful Taormina—had to chase it down and eventually win, but you can imagine how chilling it was to fall asleep after that. The people working there and the owner were nice, but this is a cheap attempt to capitalize on a repurposed apartment.

The location, cleanliness, and bed comfort were great. The rooms were divided by simple interior doors, so privacy was very limited.
