Located within the Roadchef motorway service area, Days Inn Lockerbie (Annandale Water) overlooks Annandale Water Loch and is just off the A74M motorway. This hotel offers free Wi-Fi, free on-site car parking, and 24-hour reception. Nearby attractions include Drumlanrig Castle and Lockerbie Train Station, about 7 miles away. Rooms feature work desks, tea/coffee facilities, TVs, and hairdryers.

The room was lovely and clean with a view over the lake, and the reception staff were very helpful, yet there is no café or restaurant on site; food is supplied by the usual UK motorway caterers and their dinner and breakfast options were disappointing.

I usually stop here when I alternate between Gretna, Annandale, and Abington, so I know what to expect; I got a clean room at a reasonable price, though a makeover would help. The rooms are clean and comfy, but I wish there were more plug sockets.

The spot is in a nice area for dog walks, but between 11 pm and 2 am people keep coming in and out of rooms and chatting in the corridors, so if you need sleep this isn’t the place. We checked out two nights early to get some rest.
