The rooms were gorgeous, the staff were fantastic, and the hotel manager was truly amazing, all while the staff remained very friendly.

The staff were fantastic, friendly, and attentive; even when the bar closed for quiet periods, they gave us plenty of notice and switched on the hot‑drink machine so my business partner could grab a hot chocolate for her room. We’ll definitely stay again, as we’re in the area for 10 plus days this year, and the in‑house Wi‑Fi lets us watch BBC iPlayer on the smart TV. The only minor issue was a little traffic noise, but it didn’t interrupt anything.

The room was nicely furnished, the Wi‑Fi was easy to connect to, and the temperature was comfortable. However, the toilet was propped up with a block of wood, one curtain hung off many hooks, and there was no fan until the cleaner brought one after we requested it. The carpet gripper at the bathroom entrance was raised about 1.5 cm, creating a tripping hazard. We booked a twin room with a patio but received a double room with a window overlooking the carpark. When we ordered scampi, chips, and peas, we only got scampi and chips in a foil box and had to carry it to our room ourselves. The duvet cover was torn in two places at the bottom.
