When I finally checked out, the worst part of the stay hit me. At 4 a.m. the owner’s husband started hammering on the roof above my room—just to ruin my sleep. He stopped around 8 a.m., so why not do it later? I told his wife, and she said she’d look at the security footage. Breakfast was barely decent, even for a budget traveler. The owner kept shouting at travelers in the common area at 5:30 a.m. When I complained at checkout, she told me to find another hostel.
