A family‑run hotel in a lovely secluded spot with beautiful lakeside gardens. We stayed one night, dined on a limited menu that included a freshly made chicken and ham pie by Dale the owner, and enjoyed a very nice breakfast. Our ground‑floor room opened directly onto the gardens, giving a lovely view of the lake and hills. The phone signal and WiFi coverage were limited, but that wasn’t a major issue.

We enjoyed the view of Thirlmere, the excellent staff, and a beautiful evening meal from a limited menu. Breakfast could use more continental options.

The staff were very helpful and welcoming and really couldn't do enough It was our honeymoon and we loved every minute it was so peaceful and a proper family business run by the family and we were made to feel like one of the family. Absolutely nothing
