“An unforgettable, authentic desert experience – the highlight of our trip! Om and his lovely family”
Staying with Om’s family turned out to be a beautiful adventure. Om picked us up from the station, showed us Jaiselmer, and then drove us to his house and family in the desert. We were greeted warmly and felt right at home immediately. The accommodation is simple but gorgeous, nothing like a desert camp. His wife cooked fresh breakfast, lunch, and dinner for us. We even helped roll the Ciabatti, which was a lot of fun. We always had fresh chai and water. Everything was taken care of for our comfort. We felt like part of his family. Om also had goats and dogs, and in the desert there were cows and wild camels to see. We even slept under the stars. It was unforgettable. Afterward, Om drove us back to the station. The stay with Om and his family was the highlight of the whole trip, and we can only recommend it!

The accommodation was very cute, clean, and comfortable. The host family was warm and kind.
“Exceptional..”
Exceptional stay that gives a real village experience of Jaisalmer. The host is courteous and friendly, giving personal attention to each family staying here. Basic amenities with a great host. Worth every penny you spend.
“Incredible, authentic, warm, lovely homestay.”
Mala Ki Dhani holds a very special place in my heart. It isn’t a touristy escape; it’s a genuine homestay where a wonderful family welcomes you into their lives. We were looking for a desert stay that wasn’t one of those big glamping camps full of bright lights and crowds, and Mala Ki Dhani delivered exactly that: an authentic experience giving real insight into daily life in this part of India. Life here is simple and reflects desert realities. Don’t expect electricity or modern amenities. Instead, come with an open mind, enjoy the sweet animals on site, and spend time with the kids. We visited in June, which was hot, but Om made sure we were comfortable, had a safe place for our stuff, and slept well (even under the stars when the weather allowed). He provided freshening up, food, chai, and cold drinking water. We also went on a lovely camel safari – we were the only people there, drank chai in the dunes, and had a super cute and romantic sunset experience just for us. The family makes the most of what they have, and their generosity is remarkable. What made our stay truly unforgettable was the connection we formed with the family. We played football and cricket together, shared meals, and were even gifted saris to wear. Within a very short time, we felt less like guests and more like friends and even family. Staying here is a meaningful way to directly support this family and their way of life. The warmth, kindness, and positivity of Om and his family are extraordinary. Their ability to find joy in everyday life is inspiring, and spending time with them gave us a renewed appreciation for many of the things we often take for granted. We arrived as guests and left feeling like family.
My stay at Mala Ki Dhani was truly unique and refreshing. Located in a peaceful village, it offered a perfect escape from the city’s hustle. The atmosphere was incredibly authentic, and it was great to experience local culture firsthand. The hospitality was warm and genuine, making me feel at home. If you want tranquility and a real taste of village life, this is the place to go.
