“It was a nice getaway but could of been a better experience”

The room we stayed in was nice, but the heater was hard to operate and there was no one to greet you or help you.

We booked the Jungle room and the elephant‑trunk shower was a laugh‑out‑of‑hand moment. We got there around 5:00 pm and found a note on the door saying we had to check in at the other Anniversary Inn building – a hassle if we’d been dropped off by Uber, and we’d liked a heads‑up. The young man at the front desk in the other location was fantastic – kudos to him. Inside, the room was sweltering and we only had a fan to cool off. The jungle “trees” were dusty, the TV was dead, and on the first night the lock didn’t work so we could just push the door open. Sometime on the second day someone came to fix it (or something) and our key wouldn’t unlock the door, so we called the nice kid from the other place and had to wait for him to drive over to give us a new key. On the third day breakfast never arrived (it’s included with the room charge), so we went out to eat. Then someone from the hotel called to apologize for not delivering breakfast and said he would have his manager call to credit us or otherwise make it right, but no one ever called.

“This is not a "hotel", more a guest house with quirky rooms; don't expect hotel service.”

The hotel isn’t geared toward business travellers, even though it’s close to the city. Breakfast only starts at 0800 h, so it’s not a good fit for business guests. There are no “hotel” staff on site – no reception. You have to walk across town to a sister hotel to check in, which is a major disappointment after long international flights. There’s no room service, even though it’s advertised.

“Très très déçu, heureusement que Jack était là.”

Rien, nous n’avons jamais pu rentrer !!! Je ne peux pas dire si j’ai aimé ou pas, nous n’avons pas pu rentrer. Nous sommes arrivés en avance. J’ai demandé par messagerie si nous pouvons récupéré nos chambres avant. Je n’ai jamais eu de réponse. À 17h00 l’heure du checking, nous nous sommes rendus devant la porte principale mais elle était toujours fermée. Nous avons vu une feuille avec un numéro d’appel et une adresse à se présenter pour récupérer les clés si les clients arrivent après 22h00. Nous avons appelé le numéro affiché et le numéro de contact via le site. C’était très difficile de joindre quelqu’un. Quand enfin, nous arrivons, c’était très difficile de tout comprendre. Une femme au bout du fil nous a même raccroché au nez. Finalement nous nous sommes retrouvés à The Anniversary Inn, l’autre bâtiment où avions déjà séjourné. Le réceptionniste Jack nous a bien accueillis, il nous a reconnus. Il nous a proposé en premier les boissons et les barres de céréales, chips pour s’excuser. Finalement pour éviter que nous perdions du temps, il nous propose de séjourner à The Anniversary Inn. Nous ne comprenons pas pourquoi il n’y pas eu de message pour nous prévenir. Nous avions fait un long voyage en voiture et nous avons perdu au moins 2 heures. Et pourquoi il n’y a eu personne à 17h00 pour nous accueillir…. Nous sommes très mécontents

“Unique relaxing experience”

The building is neat and historic, and breakfast is ordered at check‑in and delivered hot straight to your room at a time you choose, with lovely options. Checking out at noon lets you enjoy the morning without rushing. The fridge is tiny and the shower feels a bit awkward over the huge tub.
