“Traumhafter Ausblick”

The location was dreamy with a beautiful view of Lago Trasimeno, a pool and spacious rooms; it felt utterly quiet and inviting. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the breakfast was good. However, the place needs renovation—especially the bathrooms—since it’s on the edge between still charming and in need of refurbishment. By late September the business had already shut down, so the bar and restaurant were closed. Still, the overall impression was very positive.

The spot, the food and the staff were very welcoming and helpful, though the setting was peaceful, natural and authentic. I’ll definitely come back.

The property is a small castle in a typical hilltop Italian village overlooking the lake in the distance, making it perfect for a classic evening stroll through narrow streets or for meeting locals in bars and cafés—standing out in a place this small is easy. A functional pool was a welcome addition to our short stay, and large parking is available on the edge of the village. The castle is old, with a general sense of disrepair in many small details; it’s not just rustic or historic, some things genuinely need fixing.
