Each room features a Nespresso machine, homemade biscuits, and a dram of Royal Lochnagar whisky. Proximity to Balmoral Castle (8 mi) and Dufftown’s whisky trail enhances its appeal.

The quirky building was lovely, the room very comfortable, and the staff were the best—friendly and running an exceptional inn; breakfast was phenomenal with a tea‑service full of baked goods, fruit, and yogurt, plus a full cook to order from the menu; the only downside was that we only stayed one night.

The Kirk itself and its spot in the charming town of Ballater were great, with a very nicely furnished, clean, and tidy room. The only downside was the lack of a car park.
