“Run as fast as you can”
The location in the city is fairly good, close to Saint Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican, and you can walk to the historic centre. We were shocked when we arrived because the accommodation turned out to be an apartment with three rooms that we had to share with other guests, which was never mentioned when we booked. We had a private bathroom, but every time we left our room we ran into other tourists. The room was extremely small for the four of us, with barely any space to move. The bathroom smelled like sewage, and the double bed fell apart when we sat on it; the wooden slats underneath kept coming loose and we had to fix it ourselves. We stayed for 4 nights. On the second day we asked the owner to change the towels; he left 3 sets in a common area even though we were four. On the last day we asked for more toilet paper because we ran out; he left it in the common area again and other guests took it, so we spent a day without toilet paper even though we paid €200 per night. The “cherry on top” was a free late check‑out offered to make up for the poor experience, but later that day he messaged me asking what time we would leave because he needed to clean. I felt pressured and told him he could clean the room, as I only needed a place to leave our luggage. He said there would be no other guests, so I left the luggage in the common kitchen area, but when we returned in the evening there were actually other guests, so the next morning I couldn’t leave my belongings there because they included valuables and documents. I had to rent a luggage locker in the city, which was the end result of the “free late check‑out.” Overall, I would not recommend this place, not even to my enemies.
