The location is nice, within walking distance of the charming city center, with plenty of parking. The pool is lovely for starting the morning (as long as you bring your own tub, because it’s relatively small for a full swim). Breakfast was sufficient and good. The garden is great for a relaxed afternoon drink. If you don’t have very high demands on the room, it’s a good base in Valkenburg e.o. The hotel is relatively old; they try to dress it up nicely, but the rooms are very small, especially the bathroom. It’s also quite noisy; you can hear anyone walking down the hallway. Breakfast each morning was quite chaotic; there were never enough staff to clear tables on time, and the coffee machine and all breakfast items had to be refilled continuously. The staff try hard and run around like a fire, but there’s no time for guests, which also affects friendliness.

We spent three days at this hotel and arrived very early; the staff welcomed us warmly. We parked our car and had time to explore the area before check‑in. It was nice to have an indoor pool. The food was mostly varied, though sometimes a bit cold. The building is a bit older and gives off a somewhat dark vibe. The furnishings are very plain. The rooms had very little light, and sometimes the switch for an extra light source didn’t work. The tap was so tight you almost needed a pipe wrench, and then it dripped. The soap dispenser in the bathtub didn’t work and opened as soon as you tried to squeeze soap. Because there was no shower, you had to use the bathtub as a shower, which was only supposed to be protected by a narrow glass pane from splashes—unsuccessfully, the bathroom got very wet and there was no doormat. The hair dryer worked but with little power. The mattresses were very saggy and quite soft. Walking through the house, you could see many unsightly spots and damage: torn or loose wallpaper, damage to door frames. In the pool area, the clock didn’t work. The pool entrance had no safety rail. There was no proper way to shower after swimming without being visible to the public. There was also no sign pointing to the toilet.

The parking lot is large and free, fenced off for security. The hotel is within walking distance of Valkenburg’s center. Breakfast is decent and good. The room is clean and tidy but somewhat dated. The shower pressure is low, so you can’t really enjoy a proper shower; this was reported to reception.

The staff, accommodation, and breakfast are all great. The hygiene was poor this time; it was dusty and there was even a line of dust flakes on the edge under the TV, unlike the previous visit which was fine.
