The location is great and the price is good, but there’s nowhere to relax, no chair in the room, and the Beaconsfield service needs a full makeover.

It was easy to find, being in a service area, and surprisingly quiet, although I had read previous reviews that said to ask for a quieter room. Mine was overlooking the seating are at the back. The location was also good for food; it's an interesting service area - it smells great when you go in with a good variety of food outlets. The receptionist on arrival was very friendly and helpful; I couldn't fault the welcome. Access to the rooms feels secure as you need to use your key card to get to the stairs and lift. This is a difficult one. Most of the things I didn't like weren't unexpected given that this is an Ibis Budget and I've stayed at them before, but I might as well list them for completeness. 1. The facilities are minimal; tea/coffee/kettle are not provided in the room. There is a boiler thing near reception where you can get tea and coffee. You can help yourself, which is a good thing, but it's inconvenient. 2. The rooms are, if you've looked at the photos, basic. The bed clearly had a mattress topper on, and was reasonably comfortable, and the linen I had was clean and fresh. Other bits of the room weren't so clean, e.g. by the shower, between the main door and the bathroom door and, particularly, under the bedside shelf at one side where someone had clearly spilt coffee or something and the wall had not been cleaned underneath. 3. Lack of carpet in the rooms. Yes, carpet can get sticky and horrible but, if you've ever gone over a lino/laminate floor after it's been mopped, you'll know that mopping really just spreads most of the dirt around the place rather than picking it up. 4. The bathroom facilities are fine fir a solo traveller. There's privacy in the actual toilet cubicle, but the washhand basin (which appeared not to have been cleaned properly) is in the room, next to the shower cubicle which has a glass door - neither of those are enclosed 5. Overall the room was a little shabby, even though some bits looked like they may have been painted recently. I was there with my daughter and, as I knew what to expect, I made sure we had separate rooms but I wouldn't want to share a room at one of these hotels, even with my wife, due to the lack of privacy in the washing facilities

Everything is always clean, the rooms are well equipped, and the staff are helpful and friendly, making it very convenient; the only drawbacks are that there is only one pillow per room and parking costs extra.

The bed was comforting, but there was no drinking water and the TV channel selection was limited.

The 24‑hour staff was great, though the place stays open late.
