Protea Hotel by Marriott Cape Town North Wharf

“Great room, views, service and breakfast - could not have been more perfect.”

The hotel, especially the staff, were fantastic: they left a bottle of wine, feather‑decorated the bed, and placed cake pieces in the room. The stay was memorable because the room was clean, spacious, and had great amenities like a washer/dryer, and the front desk folks were friendly and kind. Breakfast was a pleasure, with the largest buffet we’d ever seen, and the staff cooked our eggs exactly as requested—all included in the room rate. Exceptional hotel and service. Paul and Patricia.

The location was good, but the internet and TV service were lacking.

“Handy location, apartment style hotel rooms.”

The location was good, with a short walk to V&A, Bree St food, and tour pick‑ups. The staff were great, and the apartment‑style rooms were perfect for our stay. Breakfast was good. The downside was that dinner wasn’t available on site, though there were many nearby options, and personally we found the pillows a bit uncomfortable, but it was a minor issue.

The apartment was huge, but that was the only downside.
