Waldhotel Schäferberg sits on Reinhardswald Forest's edge, near Kassel. The hotel features a conservatory restaurant serving regional dishes and offers free WiFi. Rooms include cable TV and private bathrooms with showers and hairdryers. A 20-minute walk from Mönchehof Train Station, it's 5 km from Kassel airport and 11 km from Kassel Wilhelmshöhe Train Station, with free on-site parking.

The rooms were outdated, the shower tray had rust coming out, and it was very smelly.

The hotel sits right on the B7, and you can reach Kassel’s city centre in just a few minutes by car. There are plenty of parking spaces, all free of charge. The décor is cozy and comfortable, and there’s an elevator available. The rooms are suitable for a short break, with very comfortable beds. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with a complimentary bottle of mineral water. The bathroom is styled in 80s décor, everything is clean and flawless. The dining is excellent; the breakfast is outstanding and leaves no room for complaints, and the homemade cake is delicious. This was our third visit, and we’ll definitely return. We had nothing to complain about!

Everything was very good and the staff were very friendly, but we unfortunately got a room by the hotel entrance where smokers were present, the windows hardly opened, and the smoke filled the entire room.

The place feels a bit dated. The food was pricey and barely seasoned.
