Wi‑Fi was available and fast, the staff were kind, a washing machine was available, the setting was quiet, and an AC was present for hot weather. The bathroom shower was not working and a warm shower was not available.

I booked a tiny apartment that was compact enough to fit everything I needed, but the owner wouldn’t give us the address straight away, so we had to wait in Mombasa and keep calling her through a taxi driver to find the spot – a real hassle. The Wi‑Fi was nonexistent, the shower was broken, and the cleaning left a lot to be desired: we found cockroaches and a swarm of mosquitoes. After checking in she texted us saying we’d paid too little and tried to convince us to pay more, even guilt‑tripping us about her earnings. If she advertised the price that way, she shouldn’t complain to guests.
