“Classic bait and switch. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.”

I was excited by the description of the property and the long drive out from Windhoek, but the reality was disappointing. It seemed that those staying in tents had a better experience. Everything felt run‑down and understaffed; we only saw two people, one being the owner. Maybe more staff come during busier periods? Our “chalet” was a dingy room off a shared “game room”, with no private bathroom or kitchen – really dodgy. There were many signs saying “Don’t do this…” and “Don’t do that…”. The Wi‑Fi didn’t reach our room and we were told it was because we have iPhones. We were scheduled to stay for two nights, but we couldn’t bring ourselves to stay one. If we’d arrived any later, we would have had no choice but to stay. If you choose to stay here, seriously curb your expectations.

The welcome was fantastic, they treated us wonderfully. The bed was very comfortable and the overall experience was positive. Google Maps doesn’t show where this place is, so we had to detour many kilometres, which is a shame because the roads here aren’t paved and an extra kilometre means a lot. The access road is only suitable for 4×4s.

We recently stayed at a tented lodge for the weekend, but unfortunately, the experience did not meet expectations. The amenities were not as advertised on the website, which was disappointing. We also paid N$175 per person for breakfast, but the portions were far below what was expected for that price. It was closer to something worth around N$60. We actually left breakfast still feeling hungry. We hope the lodge can improve both its offerings and accuracy in advertising
