“Una casa espectacular con mucha falta de cariño”
The location was a natural, tranquil setting close to the tourist spots. The house was spacious, each room had its own bathroom, and the exterior was lovely. A group of friends stayed in the entire house, but neither the staff nor we were contacted a few days before or on the day of arrival to confirm the check‑in time, which felt odd. I had to call ahead to inform them of our arrival time—surprise! The owner, who isn’t the person who greets guests, didn’t know about my reservation and thought I was booking in Madrid, apparently because they have multiple tourist rentals. I explained that we had the Hospedería in Sanabria booked and paid. He said he would notify Mauricio, the manager. Later, the owner called again to ask for my reservation, having apparently lost all booking data after a phone change. It seemed they didn’t see that a reservation was made 2–3 weeks in advance. Luckily everything worked out and we could access the house a few hours later. The house has two floors; the first floor had the rooms and everything was fine. The issue was on the second floor, the leisure area, which had a huge industrial kitchen and a dining space for friends. It had potential but needed more care: dirty surfaces, rough door frames, exposed cables, and bathroom doors larger than their frames, preventing closure. The experience wasn’t bad, but there’s a lot that could be improved.
