I've been staying at this hotel whenever I visit Penang for the past 20 years, and the service and maintenance have always been top notch. The hotel is supposed to be due for renovation since changing from Evergreen to Park Royal; despite this, general maintenance and cleanliness have been good. However, on this trip I noticed that the wallpaper in the corridor has started to peel in places, and mold is starting to appear. I would recommend this issue, which is easily rectified, be attended to quickly to maintain the image of the hotel.
