“Dream Come True”
I stayed a few days in a room with a balcony that offered spectacular views of the Caldera and sunsets that outshone those in Oia; the meals were superb, with the chef delivering fresh local dishes that were truly mouth‑watering. Even though the place isn’t near Fira or Oia—requiring a rental car, a €25 taxi, or a €2 bus—I still found it perfect for enjoying Santorini away from the crowded cruise‑tourist zones while still having easy access to the island. The owner helped with taxis and info, and I was upgraded to a honeymoon suite, so every day I woke to beautiful towels and flower arrangements on my bed. I loved returning each day, and the village Megalochori was very cute. The spot was convenient, just a 5‑minute walk to the bus stop, a 7‑minute walk to the lovely café‑restaurant Spetki for melt‑in‑the‑mouth gyros, and another 3 minutes to the bakery that serves excellent cappuccino, pastries, and gelato. A great stay, though I did get mosquito bites—nothing the hotel could have done about that.
