West Highland Lodge was pretty much what we expected: a hostel surrounded by beautiful scenery. The lodge offers good facilities, including a well-equipped kitchen, a cosy lounge that feels like someone's living room, plenty of shared bathrooms (although some were warmer than others), and bunk beds in the rooms. When we arrived, our room was a little cramped and far too warm, so we turned off the heater and opened the window to make it more comfortable. Soundproofing is not the best, and the room doors can be quite noisy if they're not closed carefully. Depending on your fellow guests, this can mean quite a bit of noise when you're trying to settle down for the night. That said, it's a good deal for the price, especially if you're looking for simple hostel accommodation in such a beautiful location!
