The cleaning lady was friendly, the place is central but I’d rather walk more for a decent stay! If you want to relax, don’t come here! We rented the apartment on the 2nd floor opposite the stairs for a few days. The iron door of the stairwell can only be forced open, and you’ll hear it every time someone enters or leaves, day and night. The neighbor’s toilet is also used. The room has no wardrobe or other storage besides four hanging hooks on a rack. The air‑conditioner makes a clicking noise at night even when off, the CO₂ meter blinks every 1.5 minutes like a strobe, the small fridge next to the bed rattles disturbingly at night. If that’s not enough, the neighboring building is demolished from 08:00 to 16:00 with a water saw and a concrete drill, setting a grim atmosphere. The apartment itself is repellent even with the nighttime and daytime noise. In the communist era it might have earned 2 stars, thanks to the hair dryer and the AC. Only the daily cleaning lady’s friendliness is human. We thank our friend Goffredo Host for the sarcastically funny, escape‑room‑style phone instructions on how to enter and occupy the room. (We had already given our arrival time on the booking site two days earlier!)

The location is great, a 10‑minute walk to the train station and also 10 minutes or less to the old town. The nearby pub can be noisy in the evening, and the walls are thin so you can hear neighbours and someone entering the main doors. I was asked twice about my exact arrival time, but check‑in was remotely over the phone and it was very smooth and easy – Golfredo was nice and helpful. I would stay there again. Cleaning, cleaning, cleaning – it should be improved. When I checked in it was quite clean, but daily cleaning was really poor; they only make your bed look perfect but don’t clean anything else in my opinion. During my 5‑night stay my towel was not changed even though I left it in the bathroom as instructed. Also, for the money you pay you could get some refill of shower gel… I would suggest some renovations as it looks a bit worse than on the pictures; walls have stains in places; there are unsightly streaks in the shower area, and the quality of the drain is poor. Most noticeable, however, is a burnt armchair… If these shortcomings are addressed, I’ll be happy to give a 10/10 next time.

Close to the sea, the room was clean. The room was very lifeless, reception was a bit complicated exclusively by phone, no coffee nearby for breakfast, no kettle in the room.

“Excellent”

The location is top. Close to the center and the sea. The room was well heated and very clean. The bed was super comfortable. The staff were friendly, very professional and very organized. They kept our luggage so we could enjoy Napoli a bit longer before taking our flight.

“One of the best places to stay in Monopoli”

The stay at Fanfulla in Monopoli was delightful. Its spot in the centre put the charming old town right within a short walk, so exploring on foot was a breeze. The room was roomy, and the bathroom was equally spacious, which added to the overall comfort. Goffredo, our main contact, was friendly, helpful, and a real pleasure to work with, making the experience even better. It’s a solid choice if you want a centrally located, comfortable place while touring Monopoli. The only thing that could use a bit of improvement is adding a few more pillows to the room.
