The living area and open kitchen were on the ground floor, which was handy for my dogs. The overgrown gardens, litter at the front, dirty windows, cooking items, cigarette‑burnt furnishings, tatty curtains, and a sauna that wouldn’t turn off were all problems, but the worst was a patio door that wouldn’t lock; none of these issues were resolved and they ruined our stay.

The location was beautiful, peaceful, and surrounded by nature, making it a lovely place to relax; it was very quiet and a great base for exploring Cornwall, with many popular attractions within a short drive, and the lodge was clean, so we enjoyed the peaceful surroundings. Unfortunately, the stay did not offer good value for the price we paid; the master bedroom became very hot because the main window could not be opened even after several attempts, and a fan that was provided was not working, which made sleeping uncomfortable; we feel these maintenance issues should be addressed to improve guests' comfort.

The place was clean with excellent staff and a great location, so I definitely will recommend it. The kids were so excited to get into the swimming pool, but they were not allowed because there was no lifeguard on duty.

Breakfast took a very long time and the poached eggs were cold; the chalet we stayed in was clean inside but the balconies hadn’t been cleaned in years, and no one else was staying at the hotel; it is only partially renovated, and the pool and sauna were not working and should not be open. The hotel is pretty much derelict.
