A beachfront spot in the Caribbean that ticks all the boxes—friendly staff who organized trips to nearby island beaches and even a bioluminescent night tour, plus fresh local fish served with rice and vegetables. The setting is gorgeous and the people are genuinely warm. I’d definitely come back.

The views from the hotel are impressive and it’s easy to hop to other islands, which is a big plus. Unfortunately the building feels rundown—you can see straight through the bedroom doors, the shower is the same, and the staff only seem friendly when they’re trying to sell you something. They even pressured my group into tours, and the food was basic yet pricey. Power only ran from 6 pm to 3 am, so the diesel generator’s smell and noise were constant.
