The staff were friendly and the mattresses were excellent, but if you’re bringing a dog you have to register it beforehand—otherwise it’s impossible to mention, and the dog fee is extra. Our room was small, the bathroom tiny and dated, the faucet didn’t work properly, and the whole hotel needs a renovation, especially the stairs to the main entrance.

“Gut”

The location is good and the hotel has its own restaurant, but the bathroom didn’t feel clean—though that was due to the yellow walls with shadows.

Overall it’s good; there’s a parking garage at the hotel for €15 a day, an evening bar inside, and the location is close to the train station and city center. The breakfast is very good, the pool has a counter‑current system and a whirlpool, though it’s small and not ideal for swimming. In the bathroom the edge of the bathtub was broken and the sink had a large crack.

The hotel sits nicely in central Goslar and has a nice spa area, but the rooms feel a bit dated. Unfortunately, you have to wait 15‑20 minutes for breakfast, and you have to stand in line until the opening time—time‑pressure makes it a bit stressful.

“Eine gute Balance für Erholung im Harz”

I had a spacious room with a desk and armchair, and the wellness area featured three saunas and a swimming pool, though the whirlpool was off and the pool water was cold. Breakfast offered a great selection, the location was perfect, and across the street is a beautiful garden; the train station is just a 5‑minute walk. The mattress was either sagging or too soft for me, and the staff should have pointed out the “guest card” and the museum discount—those were missing. Wi‑Fi was absent for the last two days, and my room was near a hallway door, so I could hear doors opening and closing sometimes.
