The surroundings, hygiene, staff – everything. Unfortunately, there is no smart TV, so we couldn’t stream or watch channels other than Italian ones. And maybe a coffee machine would be nice.

Location and Lisa’s friendliness. Exit onto a dangerous street, no disabled parking unless you pay 18 euros for the hotel’s reserved spots.

“Great, unpretentious family-run hotel to have as a base for exploring Liguria”

This is our third time staying at l'Approdo and we’re always happy with our stay. From the brilliant location, midway between Rapallo and Santa Margherita and overlooking a small bay, to the kindness of the staff and the cleanliness, this hotel works hard for its money. Get a room with a balcony so you can wake up to the view and also spend time in the evening having a drink and watching the lights on the hills. The beds are super big and comfy, linens clean and the cleaning staff take the time to tidy up the room every day. The shower is great, with water pressure always good. Rooms are very plainly decorated but that’s what you need when you’re on holiday and your stuff is all over the floor anyway. Great Wi‑Fi, and a quiet little terrace downstairs to chill out and have a night cap. This is a perfect place for a Ligurian holiday.
