The room was very spacious, with a separate lounge area and a lovely large bathroom that had a deep bath. We ate in the dining room both nights, but they didn’t have enough wine glasses for each table; we had to ask each night for some, and they had to leave to find them, even bringing us mismatched glasses on the second night. That’s not what you expect, especially when the dining room wasn’t even half full.

The hotel was friendly, clean, and well equipped. Just a little general maintenance was needed.

Everything else was fine, but the restaurant fell short. The room was nicely furnished, quiet, and the bed was comfortable. The menu promised more than the dishes delivered, and the prices felt high for what you actually receive. The Beef Brisket we ordered was a tiny slice—just three small mouthfuls—paired with a side of flavored potato mash, and at nearly £23 it was a poor value. We didn’t bring this up then to avoid upsetting the guest, but the next morning the reception apologized. Allowing dogs in the breakfast room was also a bad idea, especially when no alternative space was available.

The hotel was clean and the staff were helpful, but the room stayed hot and the fan didn’t keep up.
