The room design and overall vibe were spot on, with a gorgeous bed and a prime spot on Michigan Ave. The staff were friendly and the car valet was a delight. I’d definitely return. However, the public areas were unbearably loud; we left Cindy’s because we couldn’t hear each other. The Drawing Room was the only place with an acceptable noise level, and that was great. When we got to our room it was almost pitch black—wall switches were chocolate brown, so I had to use my iPhone flashlight just to find them. All the hotel signage and phone numbers were in a font that was extremely small, making it hard to read (maybe I’m getting old). Still, I’d come back knowing I’d need to pick quieter spots for dining and partying.
