“DON’T BOOK UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET ROBBED OR WORSE”
The hotel sits in a quiet, pleasant part on London’s outskirts, with a bus stop just a few steps away and a scenic 45‑minute ride into the city centre if you take the bus. Unfortunately, our basement room was accessed straight from the street, felt stale and mouldy, and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned after previous guests. The towels were still damp from the washing machine, folded instead of hung, creating unhygienic conditions. The bathroom was cluttered with open hygiene products left by earlier occupants, there was no hairdryer, and the toilet paper was insufficient—both rolls had already been started. The listing promised a terrace, but none existed. Safety was a major concern: the only natural light and fresh air came from a single window that also served as a door, secured by a simple four‑digit code lock, which felt very unsafe as the glass or surrounding structure could be easily breached from the street. International travellers would find no international sockets, except for a single bathroom outlet meant for electric shavers, which was unreliable and intermittent. After we booked, the photos changed to show the basement room we were assigned, misleading us. We expected a standard ground‑floor room with kitchen access and a proper wooden door, but this place felt like a money grab rather than honest accommodation, and I would not recommend it.
