“Beautiful but frustrating”

We enjoyed a stunning view from the “glass” cabin, though the other units mostly looked out onto neighboring cabins; the grounds were lovely and easy to stroll around, and the buffet offered a good range of dishes. However, when we requested a safari vehicle and guide through the hotel, we were told at checkout that Visa card payments weren’t accepted, despite earlier assurances; we had to wait for a motorbike rider with a card machine, which felt absurd since most guests were on pre‑arranged tours. Also, it wasn’t clear that park entry fees weren’t required just to reach the lodge—those only apply if you’re doing a game drive.

It was clean, the staff were very helpful, and the plants were well‑maintained.

“Prima maar te duur voor wat je krijgt”

The beds were extremely comfortable, the location was right next to the park, and there was a wide selection of food with plenty of variety. However, the bathroom felt old and dirty, the cabin offered almost no storage—no wardrobe or shelf at all—making it feel like a cluttered dump. Too many staff members crowded each other for tips, and the overall vibe was a bit too mass‑market for my taste, though the restaurant crew were genuinely friendly and worked hard from 6 am until 9 pm.
