“Nice weekend outing with lake and onsen bear Sapporo”

The hotel offers a stunning view of the lake and its surroundings. The food was excellent, blending Italian style with locally sourced vegetables and meat, making it feel like gourmet cuisine with superb presentation. The staff were very friendly. The outdoor onsen could use a bit of renovation; it felt rather rustic.

Dinner featured nice Western dishes, and the wine list included locally produced sparkling and table wines. Most staff spoke English, and the lakeside scenery was beautiful. Nothing to note otherwise.

I would have liked a space in the open‑air bath where I could wash myself. There were no washing supplies or seating, so after the hot spring I had to return to my room to wash again, which was inconvenient.

“Hokkaido Lakeside Hotel is worth a stay and a stop if you are in the north.”

Everything was wonderful and surpassed our expectations in every way. The onsen was gorgeous, and we even had one in our room, which was fabulous. The Italian dinner was exceptional. All three adults agreed we would stay again. The town was quaint, and the lake and mountains were spectacular. I’m not a fan of Japanese breakfast, though I appreciated its authenticity.

Everything was perfect! The staff were lovely, the place amazing, the private onsen lovely, and the outdoor one too. They even tailored our meals to accommodate a vegan friend and my own non‑meat diet, and it was absolutely delicious. We had the most restful and amazing stay there ♡
