“It made me wonder how hotels get stars”
The room was comfortable and quite spacious. I googled how hotels get their stars because I was baffled; it’s right next to the road with an angry dog nearby, and there was nothing else. I’d expect a 4‑star hotel to have a pool or spa, but it’s just a hotel. Some rooms have a hot tub, but mine was just a simple room with a bed and a desk. There was no bottled water, and when I asked for it, the hostess told me to drink tap water; after seeing my expression, she brought me a bottle, “For free,” she said. Obviously, you’re a 4‑star hotel with no fridge in the room. The restaurant, aimed at families, looked nice, but I had to wait over 30 minutes for a chicken wrap, and it was sad and already kind of cold. All of this, and my room wasn’t even that clean—there were marks on the wall. They provided no shampoo, conditioner, or toothbrushes, only a soapy substance on the shower wall and a shower cap. Serbia’s and Bosnia’s hotels don’t know what good service is in general, but that was just tragic. As usual, you can only dream of soundproofing, but that’s nothing new for any hotels. Overall, I don’t understand where the 4 stars come from. Absolutely not worth the money, even for a simple room.
