Ohiya Alpine River Lodge offers comfortable family rooms with private bathrooms, bathrobes, and free toiletries. Guests relax in the garden or on the terrace, enjoying serene surroundings. The lodge provides free on-site parking, a buffet breakfast with vegetarian and Asian options, and is near Sigiriya Rock (11 km), Pidurangala Rock (14 km), and Dambulla Cave Temple (16 km).

They cooked dinner for us when we arrived late. The electricity failed, but the generator ran until 10 pm. No WiFi because of the power issue. Breakfast offered only hot water; no coffee or tea. I felt they overcharged for extra services, like using their tuk‑tuk to go to the national park. The bathroom wasn’t in the room.

The hosts were accommodating and the food beautiful! We arranged a pick‑up from the Pekoe trailhead, which was marvelous. Some unsecured roofing around the property rattled a lot during high winds, making it hard to sleep.

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful stay here. It’s situated in such a beautiful, remote spot. The beds were very comfortable, and the food great. There was no WiFi, but they let us use their hotspot and it worked fine. They even organized a tuk‑tuk to Horton Plains so we could walk the Pekoe trail.

The place offered peace and calm. The only downside was that it didn’t have an attached bathroom.
