Fosen Fjord Hotel, situated in central Åfjord beside River Stordal, offers en-suite rooms with satellite TV and seating area, many with private terrace or balcony and river views. Guests enjoy outdoor activities like canoeing, rafting, and hiking, plus sauna, barbecue facilities, restaurant, and weekend nightclub. Shops and cafés are within walking distance, with Rørvik Ferry Terminal a 1-hour drive away.

The welcome was warm and the staff were available. They reopened breakfast for us, which was very appreciated.

It’s centrally located. The breakfast was very bad, the rooms weren’t very clean—dust hung under the ceiling and on the walls—and it wasn’t worth the money it costs to stay there. The pizza served was cold, under‑cooked, and had at least a kilogram of cheese. It was disappointing.

The bed was comfy and we slept well; local amenities were within walking distance and the area was very quiet. However, breakfast was poor: hot dishes were cold, most items were scarce, and there was no hairdryer in the room, which is expected in a hotel. A kettle was provided but without tea, coffee, or cups, making it pointless. The hotel looks lovely from the outside and at the entrance, but it fails miserably to provide good service.
