“Great breakfast, but doggy odor and upkeep issues”
Breakfast was delicious, hosts super friendly. But there were four or more dogs roaming the property, and the wet‑dog smell was strong. They stayed out of rooms but still in common areas, making them a bit uncomfortable. The place could use a bit more upkeep, especially the garden and interior, even in winter.
“Best Bread in Yala”
The bread here is the best I've had in Yala.
“Madraselva: Cozy Lodge with Homemade Bread”
Madraselva Lodge sits a few kilometers from Yala on the road to the Paredones de Yala reserve. It's a quiet, idyllic spot, perfect for exploring the area's sights. The rooms are roomy with comfy beds, and the lodge boasts a big pool, lounge, and terrace where you can meet other travelers. The real star is owner Guido—always listening and ready to help, like finding a nearby garage when my rental car got a windshield hit.
“Cozy, green, but could use more savory breakfast”
The folks here are incredibly friendly, and the dogs add to the charm. The place feels cozy and surrounded by lush greenery, like home. Breakfast had nice toasted bread, but I wish there were more savory choices.
“Top Northern Hostel”
One of the best hostels in the north.
