We stayed from 21 to 29 August and the location let us move around the island easily, and we loved San Andrés as a destination. However, after eight nights we can’t point to anything that made up for the problems we had. The floor felt sticky, the curtains had black stains that looked like mold or dampness, and the top of the fridge was dirty enough that we had to clean it ourselves. The fridge was unplugged and the air‑con was off when we entered. For the first two days no housekeeping came and the towels weren’t changed, which was especially uncomfortable because we’d just come from the beach and the room had sand and dampness. We never saw the bedding changed; the duvet had red stains that stayed in the same spot. The main issue was hot water: we reported it multiple times but only had hot water on the night of 28 August, when we were leaving the next day. The shower also sprayed water all over the bathroom, and when we asked for a floor towel we later found it very dirty with a dead insect underneath. Our reservation said a buffet breakfast, but the food was rationed: we were served an egg, a few sausage slices, and a tequeño each, and when we tried to get more they said no because the tequeños were “counted” and one per person. The coffee stayed in a thermos so long that it tasted bitter and burnt, the cutlery was disposable plastic, and there was no table service. We also found the pool dirty, the outlets in common areas didn’t work, the bar was closed for repairs, there were times with no potable water, and the entrance smelled damp. The main doors were dirty, marked, and had a mechanism issue that was fixed by putting a towel between them. The service was another major problem.

The breakfast was excellent and the location was a bit away from the center. The only downside was that at breakfast every day they lit incense sticks, making the air heavy and potentially contaminating the food; they should stop burning incense during meals.
