The breakfast was the best part of the whole stay, the park and surroundings were excellent and the history was thoroughly explained in the signs, but the Edenfelt building needs basic repairs or at least painting because the paint has flaked off in many places on walls and windows, the bathroom was cramped with weak equipment and the floor was freezing cold (the underfloor heating didn’t work) in room 22, and there was poor sound insulation and the door was so crooked that the hallway lights illuminated the room at night.

The location was wonderful and the morning meal was good, but the shower area didn’t feel fresh and the shower head was a bit worn.

The staff were very courteous and attentive, the courtyard and surroundings were beautiful and romantic, the trip to Hankoon and Fiskars village was short, and I would recommend the place to others, especially couples, but the sound insulation in our accommodation was quite basic and we could hear everything from neighbouring rooms, although the night was quiet and calm; I would have liked shared WC facilities (separate from the rooms) that were open 24/7.

The ambience was great, the guided castle tour was interesting and worth seeing, the guide was excellent, the castle park and the labyrinth trail were wonderful, and the staff were friendly, but we were booked into two rooms, one had a bathroom in poor condition and the whole room smelled like mold, the other had a better bathroom but still needed an update, and a strong sewer smell filled the room on the second evening; we complained immediately after arrival and received a new room in a different building that was fully renovated and comfortable, we stayed two nights, breakfast was served from 8‑10 am, we arrived at 9 am for breakfast both days and most items were repeatedly sold out and we had to point this out to staff, who should have looked at the overall situation and acted swiftly and proactively; the high‑quality accommodation service did not justify the price, at these rates rooms cannot be in poor condition or have empty breakfast plates.

The environment was nice, the bed and pillow were good and the room temperature was fine, but there was only one chair, no nightstand, and no hooks for hanging things.
