The hotel unfortunately fell short on maintenance support. We stood for 40 minutes waiting for the lock issue to be resolved. Unfortunately we had problems with the room lock and had already requested maintenance twice. After arriving at the hotel, after dinner, we waited 40 minutes for the room door to open because the lock had a problem. The maintenance person had to climb an external ladder, enter through the balcony to open the door. The maintenance staff lacked support and we never received an explanation or apology.

“Não vale o quanto cobram”

The restaurant waitstaff were friendly and breakfast was okay. My experience was far below what I expected, especially considering the price of the stay. The reception service is terrible; people always seem grumpy and the service in general is unwelcoming. The location was also a big disappointment. The hotel is in a very ugly part of town, with a community feel around it. That does not match the image of “Praia dos Carneiros” sold in the hotel’s advertising. The beach itself is nice, but the stretch in front of the hotel is extremely crowded and filled with the so‑called “farofa.” On holidays and Sundays it is practically impossible to find a place to sit. There is a lot of people, a lot of trash, and at the hotel door we even found people barbecuing and leaving all the trash on the sand. In addition, there are several constructions that give a sense of irregular occupation in the middle of the beach strip. In short: don’t expect that idyllic, tranquil image of Carneiros. In practice, the place where the hotel is located is a very popular, crowded beach with little organization. The restaurant has good food, but be prepared to wait a long time. In our experience we waited about two hours for a dish. The rooms are reasonable, but there is a lot of noise from the surroundings and a huge number of mosquitoes, which also greatly affected the experience. Overall, I found the hotel very expensive for what it offers. If it were a cheap stay, the cost‑benefit ratio might be different. But for the price charged, I expected much more – especially a truly pleasant location, a more organized beach and service matching the daily rate. The main problem for me is precisely the discrepancy between what is sold as “Carneiros” and the real experience: a nice beach, yes, but extremely crowded, with a lot of farofa, trash and an environment far from paradisiacal.
