For the price, it was pleasant, but I didn’t realize there were stairs, so I had to bring my 83‑year‑old mom up; a suggestion would be to provide candles or a torch for load shedding. I also didn’t know the room had no TV, and the owner smokes, letting cigarette smell seep through the interlocking doors even when they’re locked.

The bathroom was wonderful, and I slept well thanks to the tranquility, yet the carpet seems to need removal because it leaves a musty smell when you open the room.

It’s good value for money in the area if you just need a place to sleep; you can’t cook here and there aren’t many options around Betty’s Bay, so eat before arriving or be ready to go out after. The fridge was useful and the hot water bottles were very appreciated, but the room was a bit cold and could have been cleaner.
