Hotel Jacobs, Bruges, occupies a 19th-century townhouse, offering modern rooms with warm colours, flat-screen TVs, and private bathrooms. Centrally located, it is 800 metres from Market Square and the Belfry. Free WiFi is available throughout. A breakfast buffet with fresh croissants and Belgian beers are served. The historic city centre, Basilica of the Holy Blood, and Blankenberge beach resort are nearby.

The location is good, just a few minutes' walk from Bruges' centre. Our Superior Double room was unremarkable but comfortable; the heating required a slight tweak but worked well. A small bar opened in the evenings.

The breakfast was great, and both the coffee spot and the food itself were very good. The hotel is organized and safe, and it offers pillows, towels, and a decent shower—perfect for staying overnight and showering. However, the walls are thin and the place gets noisy; last night I struggled to sleep because people were talking loudly and slamming doors. The room is cramped; I was alone so it was fine, but for a couple it would feel tight. There’s no space to stash luggage. The location is acceptable, but if you can find a hotel closer to the center, that would be better.
