“No frills, affordable and unpretentious accommodation close to the autobahn”
This hotel is a solid, unpretentious option if you’re after a cheap, no‑frills place to sleep. It’s secure and tidy, with comfy beds and a modern bathroom. If you’re light‑sensitive, the classic German exterior blinds that block out all light are a plus (just set an alarm or you’ll oversleep). There’s elevator access. Free off‑street parking is available, and you can also park in front of the Rewe supermarket next door if the hotel’s lot is full. A bakery sits next to the Rewe where you can grab filled brotchen, pastries, and drinks, or you could shop for groceries at the supermarket. Remember that German supermarkets are closed on Sundays, but bakeries open on Sunday mornings. The hotel is easy to reach from the autobahn and is about a 30‑minute drive from Munich airport. We found it ideal for our needs because we were only looking for a place to sleep, not a destination hotel. The hotel clearly states that it’s unmanned, with an online check‑in process that gives you keyless access to the building, floors, and rooms, which works well—though it assumes you have a smartphone. My only gripe is that the doors slam often, and the noise and vibration echo through the building. The bathroom doors are also unexpectedly heavy and might be hard for a child or elderly person to open alone.
