The hotel’s location is ideal for exploring Annaba and it has character, with helpful and hospitable staff; there was a running‑water issue for a couple of days, but that was beyond their control; my room had been cancelled before I arrived because of a problem with receiving the advance payment, so I contacted the hotel, who were apologetic and I think this was simply the fact that some Algerian systems don’t sync very well with the outside world; it seemed impossible to get a reply when I messaged the hotel, again I think this was just a technical issue; I’ve stayed with them for about 15 years and never had a similar problem, so I will keep using them. The breakfast was quite poor, but that is probably just my European opinion, because I have found hard‑boiled eggs, croissants, artificial fruit juice and coffee served elsewhere as well on my Algerian travels; if you want more choice you have to go elsewhere for breakfast.
