Holiday Inn Express & Suites Langley by IHG

The room was large, clean, and well laid out, and the staff were excellent, but the internet connection was poor. Also, I know that Holiday Inn is American, but if they are going to operate in Canada they should play something other than Fox News and U.S. footbal on the TVs in the breakfast room.

Breakfast was good, and the staff working in that area was excellent 10/10, but on October 4, 2026, before the 11:00 a.m. check‑out time, I went to the front desk to request a one‑hour extension. The receptionist agreed and confirmed it was fine (though it took me less than an hour). However, when I returned to my room and tried to swipe my keycard at 10:55 a.m., I was locked out. This was incredibly frustrating because my wife was in the bathroom and couldn't open the door for me. Going all the way back down to the lobby was a major inconvenience, especially since someone was already inside the room. It was very disappointing that instead of extending my check‑out time as promised, the front desk had already deactivated both of our access cards. This felt like a very rude and unprofessional way to treat paying guests.

Breakfast was good, the staff were very friendly, and the place was busy in the morning; the room was spacious, neat, and clean, but it faced the parking lot and had light coming in from the window, making it hard to fall asleep. The blinds or window cover might need better darkening.

“Lovely Hotel, with 10 restaurants within walking distance.”

No need for upgrades, but the pool area was rented out for children swim lessons all day Saturday and Sunday, so we were unable to use the facility.
