The Darcy Hotel, Washington DC

The location was perfect, just a ten‑minute walk from the White House, and my dad and I even filmed a funny video there. The valet service was great; they have an extra lift for handling luggage and they even park your car for you. Parking does cost money, but I realized that’s standard at any Washington hotel. There’s no buffet, just an à‑la‑carte menu, yet the food was superb. On the second day they called a taxi for us, and the driver was really friendly and seemed to work closely with the hotel. Our room was fantastic, featuring two large beds, an in‑room safe, and laundry facilities. The staff were all very nice.

“A nice place”

The hotel sits in a great spot and is easy to reach. The room was comfy, shower was good, and the bed was nice. The $35 amenity fee felt outrageous, just another way to nickel‑and‑dime guests. We only used the two bottles of filtered water they handed us—maybe offer some decent spring water! I could have bought loads of water for that price. The happy hour is a nice touch and I’ve seen it elsewhere, but charging for it feels like a first for me, especially since I never stay at the hotel during those hours to enjoy it. The overall room rate was competitive with nearby properties, even with this fee, but honestly it’s just a bit too much.

The room was good, I loved the soft bed. The espresso machine was a pleasant surprise. Valet parking felt a bit pricey.

“Wonderful definitely will stay again when I’m in DC”

The staff were friendly and very knowledgeable about local sights, especially the wonderful folks Kayla, Kyle, and DJ 😊💕. Great restaurants and attractions were within walking distance, and Darcy was very friendly and informed about the area.
