The view over Luwuk was great. Cleanliness was only superficial, with hair on the floor. There was no soap and the bathroom lacked sufficient toilet paper.

The Santika stay was quite pleasant; the room was spacious and the bed comfortable. Breakfast offered a good selection of western dishes, though most items were Indonesian or Asian. Reception staff were professional and friendly, and the breakfast staff were equally courteous. The hotel sits a 10‑minute drive from the harbour, which I found ideal, especially if you’re after a higher standard than what you’d find on the Togian or Banggai Islands. I stayed for two nights: the first night everything was perfect, but on the second night the room’s cleanliness suffered and breakfast was missing several items, so there’s a bit of inconsistency.

A very comfortable transit hotel between two back‑to‑back trips, with a great breakfast buffet. Several staff members helped us get to the embassy and the port. Nothing to complain about – everything was fine.

The bedding was good quality and the staff were pleasant. The terrace offered a lovely view. The breakfast was Indonesian and could be improved for foreign tourists. The fridge in the room should be powered separately from the room’s electricity; when we left it turned off, so it was useless.
