Located 120 meters from Amoudara Beach, the 4-star Marilena Hotel features a large swimming pool, restaurant, and poolside bar, offering elegant rooms with Cretan Sea or mountain views. The hotel boasts air-conditioned rooms with satellite TV, mini fridge, and private balcony or terrace, as well as a palm-tree garden with sun beds and umbrellas.

The pool was nice, but the bedding was awful—really uncomfortable, too hard and too low, and there were plenty of large ants constantly in the room. The all‑you‑can‑eat buffet was mediocre, with few options and bland food. The housekeepers screamed in the hallways from 8 am. We were far from the expected 4‑star hotel, it only deserved 2 stars. We were very disappointed with our stay and had no comfort.

The location is great, the staff are very kind, and the bed is comfortable. The rooms are noisy, the walls are thin, and the bathroom is small.

The hotel was spotless and the staff were extremely polite and helpful, the location was excellent and the view from our room was amazing, with a small kiosk just below the hotel that could handle any urgent need. On the downside, the room was too small for a family of four and the beds were very hard; there were steps from the elevator to the room that made pushing a stroller difficult, and the elevator itself urgently needs to be replaced with a more modern, larger one.

The establishment is close to the sea and quite friendly; they offer rentals, which is very useful. The variety and quality of the food are not top‑class. There isn’t a wide selection, so it doesn’t really entice you for the price you pay, especially when you include the water; you still have to pay extra for meals.
