The originality and careful décor of the hotel, and the seamless blend of church and hotel, were impressive. The toilet had no door, so when one of us used it the other had to leave the confessional.

The fact that the hotel is set in a converted church gave it a unique atmosphere. However, the main focus is the upscale restaurant occupying the former nave, while the rooms are essentially container‑like boxes perched on columns; when you pull back the curtains you can see wealthy diners below, so you’re forced to keep them closed, which makes the rooms far from comfortable.

“Für 1-2 Nächte sehr schön aber für länger eher nicht.”

The ambience and location are striking; the old church is beautiful, the owners have modernised it beautifully, making it truly elegant and stylish, and the breakfast was wonderful. Rooms with a view into the nave have no windows, and although there is air conditioning, it doesn’t ventilate the room well. Moreover, the room lacks a toilet door; when two people share the double room, everything is visible because the space is completely open, which is very inconvenient.
