The hotel is right on the beach; the bungalows are spacious and clean, and the staff is very friendly. The entire complex is well maintained, which unfortunately isn’t reflected in the online photos. There’s also a nice little restaurant where you can eat affordably and deliciously.
“Just like home”
The owner is a special person who made me feel at home, and every staff member was very nice and always helpful. The food was excellent and the place is truly beautiful, making it the best choice I could have made. I left a piece of my heart there.
“cozy place that really feels like home”
A cozy place that really feels like home, with a homey interior and relaxed vibe. The staff were super friendly, and having delicious food right on the property made the stay even better. I’d definitely stay again.
The place was truly magical—peaceful, quiet, with a lovely garden and a beach right in front, simply incredible. The food was outstandingly tasty across the whole menu; I couldn’t get enough, and the staff were very helpful. All payments had to be made in cash, just like the rest of Sumba. On the downside, the wifi barely worked, only on a few random brief moments, and sometimes the electricity or water would go out. There was almost no warm water or pressure in the shower, so we ended up hosing ourselves with the bidet sprayer because the pressure and temperature were better 😅. It might depend on which tiny house you get, but we had the one closest to the beach, so no complaints there. It’s a bit pricey compared to other accommodations, but worth it.
The hotel offers good breakfast and dinner. The thatched houses are large and clean. The area is sparsely populated, and the beach feels almost private. The owner, Francesca, is enthusiastic, funny, talkative, and helped us rent a car; the Sumba island gas stations often run out of fuel, but she had her staff fetch us gas. Staying here felt like home—any request, she tried to accommodate. Sumba isn’t a hotspot, transport is inconvenient, and you must rent a car to reach various attractions. The room’s internet was poor.
