The staff were great, our room very comfortable and clean (though a little tired) and our evening meal very tasty and well presented. Lots of onsite parking. The open fireplaces are delightful features. The breakfast offer was not especially extensive and they had run out of a couple items. The full English was, however, freshly cooked and very enjoyable

Location and old character building, a coaching inn with huge potential that has seen better days. The room was in a dark, damp, tacky, poorly ventilated and badly converted stables. There was a nasty smell that remained the whole night that l put down to the damp conditions or from the old carpet. The cleaning was surface height only, all around the back and under the bed looked as if it hadn't been cleaned for years. The bathroom was in need of repair, skirting boards cracked and in need of paint, wall tiles broken and black mould in the grouting

The building is just beautiful. One member of staff was excellent. Not very clean, but acceptable. The great disappointment was the staff with the exception of one gentleman, they were poorly trained and were totally unmotivated. At breakfast they didn’t have salmon for the eggs royal so I had a bun with fried bacon, a poached egg and some sort of sauce. When we were registering I resented giving you my credit card details in case we damaged the room. I have never ever had this treatment and I have travelled all over world. I gather because I complained we were put in a small room at the far end of the top floor. Can I suggest you put the departure email wording through AI as it typifies the whole unwelcoming attitude of this building

Location. No meal in the evening so had to go to pub down the road. Overall decor very 'tired'
