“Small modest space, very close to downtown, clean, but with some issues with the keypads to the room”

I was only a short walk from downtown, which was great. The hotel was spotless and clearly maintained. The only downsides were the breakfast, which was just a minimal continental spread with no staff assistance, and the keypad that kept failing—staff didn’t immediately help reboot it or change the batteries, so we couldn’t get into our room for about 10 minutes after calling, texting, and knocking on the staff office. Eventually someone let us in and rebooted the keypad, but it happened at least twice.

I liked the older house vibe, especially the warm Douglas Fir floors in my room that reminded me of home in Halifax. The building itself is pretty basic, with narrow steps to the second floor and shared bathrooms. Breakfast is also basic and self‑serve, which is fine for the price but not as special as other BnBs. The breakfast window was only 9‑10, so we had to eat at 8 before it opened, and more items appeared as we left. Extending the hours to 7:30 or 8‑10 would help.

The location is fantastic, and it’s very quiet at night. Breakfast was good, though it started a bit late at 9, which was inconvenient for early travelers.

Nice spot, tidy room, and a friendly owner. However, there were fruit flies everywhere and a smell when we first arrived, so we had to buy fruit‑fly traps and Frebreeze.

The place is well‑situated, but the floorboards creak and you can hear every noise in the house, plus the bed was uncomfortable.
